Curvy Yoga

Curvy Yoga is an empowering yoga class, where bigger-bodied students can practice (re)connecting to themselves! The laid-back atmosphere encourages you to ask questions, explore variations, and learn about movement that fits YOUR body. We are owning our shape unapologetically, and learning to listen to our bodies through movement, breath, and a healthy dose of candidness – we are keeping’ it real! This is not watered-down yoga, there are no assumptions made about your capabilities based on your size or shape. This safe and supportive community teaches you how to work with your body, to appreciate your body, and to see what your body can and was meant to do. It is appropriate for beginner and experienced yogis alike. It is an active – although not vigorous – class, best suited for students who are able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease.

Tuesdays

Donations welcome through MindBody Online or in cash on site. Online donations preferred, and it guarantees you a spot!

gentle hatha

A gentle and balanced practice where students can move and be in safe community, learn inclusive asana variations, and invite relationship with their bodies. Props are highly encouraged, and everyone is invited to move at their own pace in a joyful, judgement-free space. This class was previously Curvy Yoga, and although the name has changed, the class is and will always be curvy-accessible!

Wednesdays
9:00am-10:15am (75 min)

slow flow

Borrowing technique rooted in Vinyasa yoga, Slow Flow utilizes the linking of breath and movement to facilitate connection to the body and our deeper self. Where traditional Vinyasa links ONE breath to ONE movement, Slow Flow moves on the breath, but may hold a pose for longer … slowing our sequences down a bit! Slow flow does not equal “easy flow” however, as this class offers opportunity to refine, to get curious about transitions and alignment, and to notice how the rhythm of our breath is effected the by the machinations of our body and our mind. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace, to develop their own sustainable breath rhythm, and to take breaks when needed in order to maintain that rhythm. Variations on poses will be offered for all body types. Although Slow Flow doesn’t move at the vigorous pace of its sister practice Vinyasa, it is still highly active and is appropriate for students who are able to rise and return from/to the floor with ease.

westside Curvy Yoga

Curvy Yoga on the west side of town! This class was started by 3 amazing women from Hillsboro. Five years later and, although the venue has changed a few times, we are still growing strong! Since January, Santosha’s owner, Dina Lang, has graciously provided us practice space in her private studio sanctuary while the new, beautiful Santosha Yoga was coming to life. And now that they are open, we are more than excited to have a time and place on their regular schedule! Santosha is GORGEOUS, and Dina is all about inclusive and accessible yoga. It’s a perfect match!
